  • Silken won three Olympic medals during her rowing career: one silver and two bronze.
  • Silken has been inducted into four Halls of Fame:  the Canadian Hall of Fame (1998), the Mississauga Hall of Fame (1999), the BC Sports Hall of Fame and Museum (May 2004) and the Victoria Sports Hall of Fame (Nov 2004)
  • When asked what she would like to be if she wasn’t an athlete, Silken replied “a musician”.
