Did You Know?

Angela’s first major national competition was in 1981 at the Canada Summer Games, where at 18 years old, she won two silver medals in the 800-metre and 1,500-metre events.

 


 

 
Facts and Figures: 
·         
  • She attended Northern Arizona University.  There she was an eight-time All American in track and field and cross-country running.

  • Angela’s first taste of international success was in 1984, winning the bronze in the 3,000-metre event at the World University Games in Kobe, Japan.

  • Angela is the only athlete to defend her crown in the 3,000-metre event at the Commonwealth Games, winning gold medals in 1990 in Auckland, New Zealand and again in 1994 in Victoria, Canada.
